I've been house sitting since I graduated high school in June 2010, and it's worked out really well for many families. It's nice for the dogs to be able to stay in their own home in a familiar environment. It'll also give you peace of mind knowing that your animals will be loved and cared for while you're away. Also, your house won't look empty. I can bring in your mail, take your trash out, water your plants--whatever you want me to do to ensure that your vacation will be worry free on the home front.
I try to stay local though. The majority of my customers live around the Pottstown, Downingtown, Chester Springs, Exton, and Morgantown area. My rates are typically $40/day for one dog and $50 for two. If your situation is different, we'll just cross that bridge when we get to it.
I am a college student, so I'm not home all the time. Summers are my busiest times, but I can also dog sit on breaks or weekends.
